The renovation of a unique Victorian home
Christchurch Road
DOLL & Co. has been appointed as architect and interior designer for a unique family home in the heart of Richmond. The property was originally designed by the celebrated Victorian architect Sir Arthur Blomfield who is renowned for his design work on over 100 churches. Blomfield built and lived at Christchurch Road which now sits in a unique conservation area and has local listing status. DOLL & Co.’s plans look to retain and enhance the existing character of the building with a heritage conscious design approach that will transform this family home.

DOLL & Co. launches Hampshire studio
While London will always be our HQ, we recently opened the Lomer Studio in Hampshire. Our new studio is set inside the Preshaw Estate amongst the hills of the South Downs. Far from the hustle and bustle of Fitzrovia, this studio taps into our sense of creativity and adventure. We are already working on a number of local projects with planning consultancy Whaleback, run by Ian Dollamore’s brother Richard. Together, we’ll be tackling complex planning and development challenges in the area.

What do the non-dom changes mean for prime property?
The non-domiciled status has been the talk of many in the property market in recent weeks. The tax exempt status will be coming to an end in 2025. This means that new arrivals to the UK will enjoy a four-year tax-free period, after which standard full-rate income taxes will apply. While there are some pundits who think this will damage the prime central London property market, the majority take a more favourable view.
“Wealthy international buyers have already factored in changes to the non-dom status so ultimately, we don’t think this will have much of an impact to the prime central London market in the foreseeable future,” says Shaun Drummond, residential sales director at Harrods Estates.
